MILTON, MA, April 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Janet Levine, a Writer and Teacher has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in writing and education.
Ms. Levine has over 30 years of experience in the education industry and 29 years as a self-employed writer. Her areas of expertise include communicating ideas and public speaking. She has taught philosophy and English literature at the Milton Academy. She has also written books, articles and blogs.
Ms. Levine has published four books titled, "Leela's Gift," "Know Your Parenting Personality," "The Enneagram Intelligences," and "Inside Apartheid." She is also a freelance journalist who was published in The New York Times Magazine, The Boston Globe, Yale Review and many publications in South Africa. With the end of apartheid, she published the four books, which have all been well-reviewed.
Active in her community, she is the founder of Transforming Teaching Workshops and Enneagram Teachers Association in the Narrative Tradition, as well as co-founder of the Independent Schools South Africa Education Program and Ma-Afrika Taxi Ltd.
She has been successful because she is focused and honest in everything she does. She was very involved with the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa, and consequently, she bounced back and forth between activism, teaching and writing. The careers have been a lifelong juggling act. She hopes to someday end her teaching career, and then write full-time.
Ms. Levine received a master's degree in English from the University of South Africa in 1975. She also studied at the University of the Witwatersrand. She is certified in the Enneagram System.
She is a member of The Authors Guild and a member of the review panel at the New York Journal of Books. She was twice elected to the Johannesburg City Council and held office in numerous anti-apartheid organizations. She was nominated for the Grawemeyer Award in Education in 2000 and awarded Writing Residencies at the Virginia
Center for the Creative Arts and The Hambidge Center.
