MENDHAM, NJ, May 11, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kerry M. Parker, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer for Visiting Nurse Service of New York, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in the representation of caregivers.
Mr. Parker has 31 years of work experience, with one year as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York, which provides home health care services. On a daily basis, he works closely with the chief executive officer, as well as senior managers on enterprise risk management, handles contracts negotiations for affiliation agreements on the clinical health care side and oversees attorneys. In addition, he has many other responsibilities, including hiring and training employees, addressing and preparing for risks that might come their way and ensuring that risks are appropriately measured. In the near future, Mr. Parker hopes to bring even more comfortable services to others, and play a major role in the success of the company.
As an individual that attributes his success to his drive and hard work, Mr. Parker has accumulated various awards throughout his 30-year career. He has been recognized as a "Super Lawyer" for the state of New Jersey for the past six years and is an AV-rated attorney. He was also named as one of America's Leading Lawyers for Business in 2011 and 2012. He became involved in his profession because he was intrigued by the applications of law; he is dedicated to the field of health care and representing those who care for others. His current position allowed him to seamlessly blend his interest in law and his desire to represent those in the health care industry.
Mr. Parker started as a law clerk and then worked as an attorney for Gibbons PC for 20 years. He was then employed as an attorney at Epstein Becker & Green, PC for nine years, where he practiced health care, labor, employment and corporate law before becoming the Chief Risk Officer for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York in 2012.
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Upsala College in 1978 and a JD from Seton Hall University in 1981 Mr. Parker affiliated himself with various societies and associations. In order to network within the industry, he became a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Parker continues to give back to the community as a little league coach for soccer and basketball and a board member of the Springpoint Senior Living facility. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, exercising, reading and listening to music.
