Magaly Zapata Recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Microbiology Lab Instruction

    Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, May 15, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Magaly Zapata, Coordinator of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez Campus, Department of Biology Microbiology Laboratory, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in Microbiology Lab Instruction.

A dedicated professional with 26 years of industry experience, Ms. Zapata has been instructing and coordinating general microbiology laboratory activities at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez since 2003. She also serves as a coordinator of the General Microbiology Laboratory at the university.

Ms. Zapata previously served as a Quality Control Supervisor for Mayaguez Dairy, Inc. and Quality Control Technician at Cooperativa de Ganaderos, Inc. A member of the Puerto Rican Chapter of the American Society for Microbiology, ASM USA and an Honorary Member of the Society for Industrial Microbiology, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science.

In recognition of her achievements, she was named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in 2008, and featured in the third edition of Pro-Files Magazine, and named a Top Female Executive by Worldwide Who's Who in 2013.
