With over four decades of experience in oil and gas exploration and 34 years as president and chief executive officer of Greystone Resources Ltd, his expertise lies in the area of carbonate reef reservoirs in petroleum exploration. Greystone Resources Ltd. is an energy company that works in petroleum exploration, and the development and production phases of oil and gas energy projects in Canada and abroad. He attributes his success to his ability to discover economic deposits of petroleum and natural gas. He became involved in his profession due to his love of the mountains and understanding nature. The highlights of his career were working as a mentor to younger explorationists, and finding commercially significant petroleum and natural gas discoveries in Canada and internationally.

Mr. Hayes received a Master of Science in Marine Geology from University College London in 1974, a Master of Science thesis on Carbonate Reefs in the West Indies, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Mathematics from the University of Calgary in 1971. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and supports the United Way of Calgary and Area. In five years, Mr. Hayes would like to see continued growth of his company and future success by providing for some of the energy requirements of Canada's economy.
