GERMANTOWN, MARYLAND, May 22, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ Coordinator of Longview School for Montgomery County Public Schools, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Ms. Mach has 33 years of experience in the field and seven years in her current role, which has enabled her to develop an expertise in adaptive physical education, special education, and school administration. She is charged with implementing educational programs for severe and profoundly disabled, medically fragile students. Among her duties are overseeing staff development, analyzing performance data, observing and analyzing staff performance to increase student achievement and collaborating with the local community. She also writes grant proposals and serves as a resource to the school system and community. Ms. Mach hopes to continue working in school administration, specifically improving the access to and benefit from education for severe and profoundly disabled students.
Ms. Mach also worked as Classroom Teacher for the Extended School Year Services Program (2004-2006); a Physical Education Teacher (2003-2006); Summer Extended Learning Opportunities Site Coordinator, Burnt Mills Elementary School (2002); Assistant Principal, Fox Chapel Elementary School (2001-2003); Instructional Specialist, Special Needs Physical Education (1998-2001); and a Physical Education Teacher (1985-1998), all with the Montgomery County Public Schools, MD. Outside the district, she was a Physical Education and Health Teacher for the Dominican Commercial High School, Jamaica, NY, (1982-1985) and for kindergarten through eighth grade at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, NY (1980-1982). Ms. Mach also worked previously as an instructional program specialist at Longview School.
She attributes her success to her perseverance, passion for learning, and the support she receives from her colleagues. She became involved in her profession because she enjoyed working with children and making a positive difference in their lives. Her core values of commitment, integrity, service and education have guided her throughout her career. The highlight of her career was becoming a National Board Certified Teacher in 2007.
Ms. Mach has been recognized twice by by World Wide Who's Who: She was chosen to be profiled in the "Top 101 Industry Experts" book and was named a Top Female Executive (http://www.michellemachtopfemaleexecutive.com).
Her education and certifications are long and distinguished. She received a master's degree in physical education (1984) and a Bachelor of Science, both from Adelphi University (1980). She became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2007, earned administration certification from Towson University in 2001 and is a Certified Administrator II. She also holds an advanced professional teaching certification in physical education for kindergarten through 12th grade.
She is a member of the Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Maryland-National Center and State Collaborative Community Of Practice, American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, the National Education Association, the Council for Exceptional Children, and the Local Parent-Teacher Association.
