Mary Elizabeth Roth Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Nursing

    WELLESLEY, ONTARIO, CANADA, May 24, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mary Elizabeth Roth, RN, BScN, and Professor of Nursing for Conestoga College, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in nursing.

Ms. Roth began her career in a hospital setting and has experience in working in Complex Continuing Care, in Telemetry, and in Orthopedic Surgery. In addition to teaching, she often speaks at conferences and does presentations and workshops on the subject of Preceptorship. Her passion is preparing nurses of the future. Ms. Roth hopes to fulfill her vision of writing an article or book focusing on the key themes of preceptorship. She is interested in speaking at more regional and national conferences in the future.

She has been employed in the nursing profession for 33 years; 29 of them as a professor. Combining teaching and nursing has been the focus of her career. She is coordinating the inter-professional preceptor program, encouraging and empowering students to learn and fulfill learning outcomes. She was awarded Excellence in Nursing Leadership by the inter-professional department of the college.

She attributes her success to her humble beginnings as well as to her perserverence to meet goals and her continued dedication to professionalism and integrity. Her family is very supportive and gave her incredible opportunities to pursue excellence in her chosen career. She became involved in her profession because her mother is a nurse and she was inspired by her dedication and compassion for others.

Ms. Roth earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in London, Ontario. She is a member of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario and volunteers for her local church with seniors within the community. Her moments of rejuvenation include spending valued time with her husband and three adult children, cooking, reading and gardening.
