Ms. Coe has 11 years of experience in the banking industry, with three years as Chief Financial and Risk Officer for Coastal Community Credit Union. It is the largest credit union on Vancouver Island with 24 branches, 14 insurance offices and 10 wealth management offices. The company has grown significantly over the past few years through mergers, amalgamations and business pursuits. Having obtained an associate degree in business administration from Vancouver Island University in 1988 and a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance in 1989, Ms. Coe has gained expertise in leadership, international financial reporting standards, enterprise risk management, financial analysis and treasurymanagement..

On a day-to-day basis, Ms. Coe helps drive strategic decision making, both short-term and long-term, with an indepth understanding of industry trends, market dynamics and internal and external key indicators. She oversees the business strategy planning and implementation for all business lines, including retail and commercial banking,insurance services and wealth management. Barbara manages financial analysis, asset liability and treasury management for the company. In addition, she enjoys giving presentations and provides training and recommendations to the Board of Directors. She is also responsible for managing financial risk exposure and enterprise risk management. Her duties also include financial reporting, executive dashboard reporting, budgets, liquidity and capital management, as well as ensuring effective and efficient processes and profit maximization.The highlight of her career was completing and receiving her CGA designations, though she is also proud of starting out at CCCU as an assistant manager of finance and obtaining the company's CFO role in only 10 years.

Ms. Coe became involved in her profession because she had a long-standing interest in accounting. She attributes her successes to her ambition, goals, and desire to learn, as well as her willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty. She enjoys traveling in her spare time.

Looking ahead, Ms. Coe plans to continue the expansion of the company by assisting with upcoming mergers.
