Ms. Hulien has 11 years of professional experience, specializing in accounting, auditing and technical research. She is currently part of the McGladrey Boston office Professional Standards Group assisting auditors with technical issues and overseeing audit and accounting technical trainings. With a wealth of knowledge and experience acquired over the course of a career which spans more than a decade, Ms. Hulien attributes her success to her perseverance. She was raised in South Africa, and it was very difficult for women there; to rose above predetermined societal roles assigned for her and achieved her own successful path. This drives her to further succeed and help others. She became involved in her profession because, in school, on the suggestion of her husband, Ms. Hulien changed her direction from finance to accounting and auditing.

Ms. Hulien received an MBA from Suffolk University, and earned an Undergraduate Degree from UMASS Boston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is also a Craft Yarn Council Certified Knitting Instructor and a member of the AICPA and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs. She enjoys knitting, cycling, hiking, boating, hunting and gardening in her spare time. In the years to come, Ms. Hulien plans to continue growing in her position within McGladrey LLP, and expand her exposure and knowledge base.
