Understanding the importance of a strong educational foundation, Ambassador Guevara Mena achieved a degree in law and public notary from Universidad Centroamericana UCA, Managua, Nicaragua, a master's degree in Latin American economic and social development from the Universite Catholique de Louvain, and a master's degree in mediation from the Universidad Americana UAM. He also achieved a special license in Europe Union at the Universite Catholique de Louvain and a special capacitation in public leadership at Georgetown University.

For the past 30 years, Ambassador Guevara Mena has worked as both a lawyer and law professor. His professional background includes positions as an international law professor at Catholic University UCA and an invited professor in international relations at the University of Montreal. Regarded as an expert in international subject matter, Ambassador Guevara Mena has been called upon to conduct a multitude of speaking engagements, and has published many articles in his field of knowledge. Most impressively, he has served as the dean of the international relations faculty at the Universidad del Valle. He has also been Ambassador of Nicaragua in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, and the European Union, as well as Venezuela. He has also been a presidential candidate in Nicaragua and served as a legal consultant for National Energy Enterprises.

Currently, Ambassador Guevara Mena serves as an international relations attorney for Roger Guevara Mena & Associates. The law, education, and public affairs company handles consulting in international law and private sector law. As head of the company, Ambassador Guevara Mena consults with private enterprises, government agencies, and universities on international law, public affairs, international

relations, and public policy. He also works to educate further generations to foster greater civic participation and peaceful relations. Ever eager to promote fundamental human rights, Ambassador Guevara Mena teaches about governability and citizenship in a civil society on an international basis. The most gratifying aspect of his career is the opportunity to learn from other people that existed before him, and adjust their experiences to his own life according to his point of view. Regarded as a leader in his field, Ambassador Guevara Mena has earned several distinctions. He was named as Personality of the Year by the Circle of Journalists Council of Venezuela and earned a merit diploma "Bolsa de Noticias" of Nicaragua. In 2013, Ambassador Guevara Mena was also named a Professional of the Year member by Worldwide Who's Who. He attributes his success to his ability to make effective decisions and his passion for his work. A natural philanthropist, Guevara Mena is charitably involved with the Red Cross and the Catholic Church in Nicaragua. In his free time, he enjoys reading, walking, and listening to classical music.
