Cary Pest Control Urges Summer Safety Through Ant Extermination, Wasp, Hornet and Bee Control in Apex, Holly Springs and Cary NC Area

Local Exterminator helps homeowners have safe summer fun without being stung.

CARY, NC, June 22, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cary Pest Control today urged homeowners to engage extermination services to control the spread of ants, spiders, wasps, hornets and other stinging bees and insects.

"Summer is here," said Mike Sauls, Owner of Cary Pest Control. "This is the time to fire up the backyard barbeques and enjoy playing in the great outdoors. But it is also the time when stinging and biting insects make their seasonal debut. You want to protect yourself from the top five stinging and biting insects likely to be encountered in our area of North Carolina."

"Stinging insects send more than 500,000 people to the emergency room every year," continued Sauls. "These pests are not just a nuisance. In addition to their painful stings, they can pose a real danger to those who suffer from allergic reactions."

The list of pesky stinging insects to get extermination help for include:

1. Wasps: Wasps are the most aggressive of the summer stingers. They should be given a wide berth as they often attack humans for no apparent reason.

2. Yellow Jackets: Yellow jackets typically create their nests in the ground but they can also be found in attics and basements. A fully developed nest can contain thousands of adult yellow jackets and these stingers will vigorously pursue intruders if their nest is disturbed.

3. Fire Ants: Many think red imported fire ants bite, but they actually sting. Avoid their signature mounds as they will sting multiple times if disturbed.

4. Mosquitoes: In addition to the painful, itchy welts they leave behind, mosquitoes are summer's most notorious stinger and can transmit diseases like West Nile Virus or Encephalitis.

5. Hornets: Like wasps, yellow jackets and fire ants, hornets are social stinging (and biting) insects and present a greater threat because they attack in large numbers if they perceive their nest is danger.

Cary Pest Control encourages homeowners to follow these easy steps to prevent stinging insects from ruining their summer fun:

1. Serve sugary drinks in covered pitchers and keep desserts in tightly sealed containers.
2. Make sure all outdoor trash cans have a secure lid that is kept in place.
3. Remove sources of standing water, such as old tires, children's wading pools, birdbaths and saucers of flowerpots.
4. Cut back or get rid of unnecessary vegetation around the home.
5. Seal all cracks around the foundation of the home and ensure all screens are in good repair.

If an infestation is suspected, call Cary Pest Control to take care of your pest problem and properly remove the insects from the property.
