Sarasota Injury Law Firm Fights for Environment

    SARASOTA, FL, June 26, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sarasota personal injury law firm, Luhrsen Law Group has joined an environmental battle with Manatee County developers and Board of Commissioners. Firm Administrator, Matt Bower, is a life-long resident of Bradenton and a fishing guide. Recently, a proposed text amendment has come before the Manatee County Board of Commissioners that would allow the developers and investors of Long Bar Pointe to dredge an important piece of north Sarasota Bay and cutout at least 40 acres of mangroves along its vital shoreline. The amendment would also apply to many locations around Manatee County.

Luhrsen Law Group has always been involved in public policy, with Jeff Luhrsen and Matt Bower acting as volunteer lobbyists for the Sarasota Coalition on Substance Abuse and the Manatee County Substance Abuse Coalition.

Matt Bower recently took an afternoon off work to speak before the commissioners. Although Tropical Storm Andrea postponed the vote, the Commissioners heard from the audience and some residents. Matt Bower's speech was received with a round of applause from the entire room. Knowing this issue was too important to sit on the sidelines, Luhrsen Law Group gave its Firm Administrator two thumbs up to take action and do what he thought was right.

As of June 24th, over 500 petitions have been signed and Save the Manatee County Shoreline is reaching 500 followers after only a few days online. Matt says that it might seem weird to many that a plaintiff's injury firm would get involved in an environmental issue, but Matt explains that the firm has been involved in politics for years. This issue is just closer to home and means a great deal more. "What law firm, let alone an injury law firm, would give someone such leeway? Pretty cool stuff, right?" says Bower.
