New theatre shows beginning in July in London include 'The Sound of Music' at Regent's Park; and all three of Shakespeare's 'Henry VI' plays at Shakespeare's Globe where trumpet soloist Alison Balsom appears in 'Gabriel' and Footsbarn perform 'Indian Tempest'. Other theatre highlights are 'The Color Purple' at the Menier Chocolate Factory, 'A Season in the Congo' at the Young Vic, and 'Circle Mirror Transformation' starring Imelda Staunton, a Royal Court production at the Rose Lipman building in Haggerston.

The British architect behind the Lloyd's of London building, Richard Rogers, is the subject of an exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts where 'Mexico: A Revolution in Art, 1910-1940' begins on 6th July. The Victoria and Albert Museum takes visitors on a nostalgic trip through London fashion in the 1980s with 'Club to Catwalk'.
