Emily A. Weiss Named a VIP Member of Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Entrepreneurship

With 28 years of industry know-how in the marketing and advertising sector, Ms. Weiss embarked on an entrepreneurial endeavor. Shortly after her father suffered a paralyzing stroke, he was forced to wear adult diapers while in the hospital. He was not incontinent, but did not have the mobility to use the restroom himself and staff were not always readily available to help him. Watching her father's sense of independence deteriorate, Ms. Weiss was struck with the brilliant idea to invent EZ-GO Pants. Available in a variety of styles, the pants provide seniors, and those who suffer from immobility, with the ability to go to the bathroom without assistance. The patent-pending design allows for catheter bags and has a quick open pouch in the front of the pants, allowing those who wear them to continue living active lives. EZ-GO Pants are adaptive and specially designed for those who are confined to a bed or wheelchair, and those living in a rehabilitation center, elderly care facility, or hospital.

As owner, Ms. Weiss oversee all aspects of business operations for the company including handling production, selecting and purchasing fabrics and zippers, communicating with manufacturing firms, and distributing products online and to retail stores. Currently, she is working collaboratively with Independent Medical Co-op in regard to partnering opporuntities. Ms. Weiss also promotes products to health care and homecare companies, conducts research, fulfills orders, and accomodates special requests. Drawing on her educational background, which includes a Bachelor of Science in advertising from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University, she has become an expert in innovation. Honored with the The Walter Teitz Creative Media Award, Ms. Weiss feels her success can be most aptly attributed to an innate desire to help others. In the coming years, she strives to work closely with veterans, expand the business to reach a larger client demographic, and include addition products for women.

Ms. Weiss is a past board membder for ThinkLA and charitably involved with Jewish World Watch and Valley Beth Shalom. Away from the demands of her work, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, and spending time with her family.
