Dennis E. McGavis Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Green Technology

    AKRON, OHIO, August 12, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dennis McGavis, Global Director of EHS Sustainability for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, has been recognized by Worldwide Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in environmental policy.

Mr. McGavis has 30 years of professional experience, having recently become a global director of EHS sustainability for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Over the years, he has established himself as an expert in the development, management and administration of corporate environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. In the course of his duties, he is responsible for managing the environmental issues of the company, including energy, water and waste, and building alliances with global strategic partners. He attributes his success to his mother and grandmother, who instilled in him the need to have great listening skills. He became involved in his profession because he started working in the Sustainability domain with the U.S. Postal Service.

Mr. McGavis received a Master of Science in environmental engineering and management from National Technological University, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science in electrical and electronics engineering from Boise State University. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt and a member of Boise State Alumni, IEEE ISEE, Toastmasters International, and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals. In years to come, Mr. McGavis hopes to continue to develop business attributes that reduce the company's environmental impact, as well as helping create viable, resilient and lasting businesses.
