Ms. Goueffic has 30 years of experience in publishing, including four years as author and president of Sapien Books. Her areas of expertise include academic publishing, language skills, proofreading and writing. On a day-to-day basis, Ms. Goueffic writes and publishes books relating to language. She also studies etymology, historical development, intended messages and origins. Ms. Goueffic is best recognized for her research, which started in 1963 and continued until 1994. Her work involved collecting 20,000 names and symbols relating to the speech-making species across Indo-European languages. Ms. Goueffic's research resulted in seven published books.
Attributing her success to her passion, focus and education, Ms. Goueffic became involved in her profession because she started questioning language at age 6. She later started reading dictionaries from around the world, such as the Oxford Dictionary. Furthermore, Ms. Goueffic taught high school French and researched languages and the origins of words.
Ms. Goueffic received a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in English from the University of Saskatchewan. Her affiliations include the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language and Gender; the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, the Canadian Society for the Study of Education and the Canadian Philosophy of Education Society, among others. Outside of her research and writing, she enjoys walking, traveling and spending time with her family. In the coming years, Ms. Goueffic plans on writing and publishing her memoirs.
