London's Skyline Will Be Set Ablaze this Bonfire Night

LondonTown.com reports on this year's biggest and best firework displays

LONDON, ENGLAND, October 15, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This year two of London's biggest and brightest firework displays - The Lord Mayor's Show fireworks and the Alexandra Palace fireworks - make a welcome return. Despite having run nearly every year for three and a half decades, the Lord Mayor's Show fireworks did not take place in 2012 due to financial constraints and concerns for the safety of the crowd. However, having found a safe way to proceed, the fireworks make a glorious return on Saturday 9th November 2013. One of the most impressive firework displays in London, the procession sees river barges piled high with explosives and set adrift on the Thames. The best places to watch the display are Victoria Embankment, Blackfriars Bridge, Waterloo Bridge, or on the South bank between the National Theatre and Tate Modern. For information on the Lord Mayor's Show procession and grandstands visit LondonTown.com, where details on a wide range of hotels in London can also be found.

After a four-year hiatus, Alexandra Palace's popular fireworks display returns on Saturday 2nd November. Appropriately titled 'Back with a Bang', the evening promises to light up north London's sky in spectacular fashion with a masterful display created by Star Fireworks, recently crowned the 2013 British Fireworks Champions. As well as the fireworks there will also be a family funfair, street food village, ice skating sessions and a German Bier Festival.

Having once again chosen Brockwell Park over Clapham Common, Lewisham Council is hosting a grand spectacle of an evening on Bonfire Night. Spitting the 124-acre park into four different zones, the evening takes the theme of 'The Four Seasons', with a zone for spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each section will offer food, drinks and entertainment, pre and post the fireworks. There will be Morris men, stilt walkers, fire dancers and live music.

A number of venues across London are offering two firework displays in one evening, a smaller one for children and a bigger, louder one for adults. Venues with this choice include Crystal Palace Park (5th November), hosting two displays, a funfair and a variety of food stalls; Hammersmith and Fulham, with displays at both Bishops Park (1st November) and Ravenscourt Park (2nd November); and Merton, hosting displays at Morden Park (2nd November) and Wimbledon Park (5th November).
