NEW YORK, NY, October 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Two sexually confused girls with musical dreams. A terrible waitressing job. One "sanging" saxophone. Put them all together and you've got, "My Sax Life is ALL FACHED UP" a jazz-infused musical comedy created by and starring sax player/comedienne Eva "Diva" Andersen. The power performer's musical acts and comedic sketches featured on her YouTube channel "EvaDivaSuperstar" have garnered over 3.5 million views and counting.
"My Sax Life" made its successful debut at the 2013 Ars Nova ANT Fest this past June and will be at the Peoples Improv Theater for two nights: Monday, October 21st and Saturday, October 26th at 9:30 pm.
The hour-long sketch comedy musical, written by Andersen and co-starring Singer/Comedienne Joan Estep, features killin' sax solos, opera, and Eva's real life experiences as a New York City waitress. The show is narrated by spot-on character impersonations of singer/actress Zooey Deschanel and Adele, characters from Eva's hysterical and wildly popular webseries, "Adele and Deschanel".
"Eva always has the audience eating out of her hand with her impeccable impersonations and her hilarious and heart-wrenching saxophone monologues," said Award-Winning Director Peter Michael Marino. "Eva is a musically and comically gifted pro, and just like Ars Nova, I expect the response to be overwhelming!"
"My Sax Life" not only presents the Iowa-born multi-talented performer the opportunity to show off her musical and comedy chops, but also to revisit the place where her serious comedy training began. Andersen studied both sketch comedy and improv at the Peoples Improv Theater, in addition to UCB-NYC and the Groundlings in Los Angeles. She currently writes for PITtv, the video branch of the sketch teams at the Peoples Improv Theater.
Andersen and her sketches have been featured in The Huffington Post and the "Rachel Maddow Show", she has adorned the stage at the Apollo Theater, and she is lighting up Youtube with her webseries and music videos.
