JW Marriott Hotel Buckhead Atlanta Announces Russell Stewart as the New Director of Marketing

With over 22 years of experience in hotel operations, event management, sales and leadership positions within the Marriott International establishment, Russell Stewart has no lack of hospitality experience. While his history with Marriott has led him throughout Georgia, one steady fact remains; Russell Stewart is committed to the success of the hotels he has been associated with.

Stewart began with Marriott in 1986, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, where he worked as a Banquet Department Associate until 1993. He then moved to the Marriott Chateau Élan Winery & Resort where he held a wide range of positions that built up to Senior Event Manager in 2000. From there he moved to Marriott Evergreen Conference Resort where a Sales Manager position turned into a Director of Sales opportunity until 2005. From 2005 until 2007, Stewart was the Director of Sales and Marketing at Marriott Atlanta Century Center, until he took his most recent position at JW Marriott Buckhead Atlanta Hotel as their new Director of Marketing.

Throughout the years Stewart has proved himself as an outstanding team player and leader. His energy and proactive approach to each position he is in has driven his career. With a proven record of upward mobility, customer focus and the ability to continuously drive business results, Stewart has created a name for himself and the Marriott brand he has worked for.

Committed to the further development of his career, Stewart has participated in a minimum of 40 hours of continual training a year. The focus as of late has been on the sharpening of his sales, leadership and technical skills.

Stewart has been recognized in many ways throughout his longstanding career. Most recently, he received the Leader of the Year award from Marriott's Evergreen Conference Resort, as well as Director of Sales for Marriott North America, Sales Team of the Year. With no lack of recognition, Stewart is now honored in his new role at the JW Marriott Buckhead Hotel, where he is sure to leave his signature mark of success.
