CARY, NC, February 12, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Industry leader Scott Burkhead, Managing Partner of Burkhead Brand Group, received the Silver Medal Award, the highest individual honor bestowed at the 2014 AAF-RDU American Advertising Awards Gala on February 7.
The American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award Program was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Annually, AAF member clubs bestow this honor upon outstanding members of the local advertising community.
Burkhead has more than 30 years of integrated marketing leadership in business-to-consumer and business-to-business marketing, with specific experience guiding companies and brands to create unique ways to create sustainable competitive positioning.

Burkhead is well known as the co-founder of Triangle agency Rockett Burkhead & Winslow. He served as co-CEO and chairman during that agency's meteoric growth. Burkhead departed RBW in 2006, at the time the largest independently owned agency in the mid-Atlantic region.
In 2009, he founded, Burkhead Brand Group, www.bbbintegrated.com, which is moving from the current location on Weston Parkway in Cary to Two Hannover in downtown Raleigh in March. A published author, the award recipient and his wife, Dr. Maggie Burkhead, live in Raleigh where he plays racquetball, writes fiction and hangs out with their two dogs.
