Shirley Fletcher Named Professional of the Year in Training & Development

    HAMPSHIRE, UK, March 5, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shirley Fletcher, Director of Fletcher Consultancy Ltd, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Training & Development. For more than 35 years, Ms. Fletcher has been building on a growing skill set, which includes proficiencies in operations and management, and competence-based systems development. In her current executive leadership role at a trusted consulting firm, Ms. Fletcher is in charge of contacting clients, working with government bodies on national development projects, setting new standards, managing project teams in the UK and Europe, delivering projects, ensuring that quality is being maintained, and speaking at conferences. The UK-based company achieved the highest turnover in its 20-year history in 2013. The company is now led by Ms. Fletcher's daughter, Kelly, who is continuing development for this year with minimal support. She has already found new clients for 2014.

Presently, Ms. Fletcher also continues to work as a lead consultant with Health Education England (formerly Department of Health), to develop a complete apprenticeship development and qualification programme for all support workers in health care science.

Ms Fletcher and her UK company are also involved in supporting the local and wider community. She sponsors a tiger as part of conservation in the UK, and a boy in Cambodia. The company also has an adopted whale and takes part in many fund-raising activities for various charities.

Ms Fletcher is the author of eight best-selling books, and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences and events on topics such as training and development, managing development, personal skills development, qualification and curriculum development She now works between her offices and homes in the UK and Spain.

Upon reflecting on a successful career in training and development, Ms. Fletcher attributes her success to her commitment to listening to people, coming up with something which the people need and being diagnostically qualified. She holds an Honors Degree in Psychology from Open University, and a Master of Arts in Training and Development from the University of Buckingham. She is a fellow of the Institute for Professional Development, and she was also named a Business Personality of the Year by Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce.
