Great Minds in STEM CEO Speaks at U.S. News STEM Solutions Leadership Conference

Zeroing in on Tangible Results, Real Successes and Collaborative Strategies



    MONTEREY PARK, CA, April 23, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Great Minds in STEM (GMiS) CEO and Board Member Anna M. Park, will be among a network of expert panelists, speaking on "Serving Underserved Youth," on April 25, 2014, at the U.S. News STEM Solutions - National Leadership Conference, in Washington D.C. The conference, Where Employers and Educators Meet, is presented by the U.S. News & World Report, and will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where GMiS will also be an exhibitor.

The panelists will address the growing number of in-school and out-of-school programs aimed at advancing STEM education in historically underserved communities. Participants in this seminar will discuss how to create programs that show great potential for actively engaging youth in 21st Century learning, incorporating STEM into their daily works, providing necessary funding, partnering with local schools and community groups, and effectively providing a clear career pathway.

In 2012, Ray Mellado, GMiS Chairman and Founder, was among the initial class of inductees into the U.S. News STEM Leadership Hall of Fame. In 2013, Dr. Dan Arvizu, GMiS past board member, was inducted. This year, GMiS has been invited to be part of the U.S. News STEM Advisory Council, and will be represented by Board Member Maria E. Ruess, Vice President Business Development Analysis, Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company.
