DOT Classification Testing of Crude Oil for Rail Transport Provided by Southern Petroleum Laboratories, Inc.

    HOUSTON, TX, May 02, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Southern Petroleum Laboratories, Inc. offers crude oil testing that complies with the new standards mandated by the DOT for crude oil transported by rail car in the U.S.

As provided by the Department of Transportation in the Amended and Restated Emergency Restrictions/Prohibition Order issued on March 6, 2014 (Docket No. DOT-OST-2014-0025), shippers of crude oil in tank cars by rail are required to meet the stricter standards of testing and classification of hazardous materials. The new analysis will ensure proper classification of crude oil and that the hazardous materials are packaged in the correct container for rail transport.
