Mr. Ong has 28 years of professional experience, with 15 years as the president and chief executive officer of Magnecomp Precision Technology Pcl. As an experienced engineer and executive in the hard disk drive industry, he understands all aspects of his business, and he is therefore responsible for overseeing all daily business operations of the company, including strategic planning. To aid him in conducting international business, Mr. Ong speaks English, Malay and Cantonese.

Looking back, he attributes his success to global experience across multiple disciplines including engineering, operations, strategy and financial planning. His ability to work intimately and flexibly with multiple cultures has led to successful joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions in different countries. His personal attributes of broad technical knowledge and being a good listener has also been key success factors. He became involved in his profession because he was initially recruited as an engineer, and has steadily and rapidly progressed to a senior-level executive position.

Mr. Ong received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Western Australia in 1985. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding and also maintains affiliation with the Global and Asia-Pacific Board of the International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials Association (IDEMA). In years to come, Mr. Ong plans to continue growing the company and expanding from its major core segment to multiple businesses while keeping it an important member of the data storage industry and infrastructure
