RMT's Products and Support Brings Mass Technologies On-Board In Texas

But it was RMT's "old school" approach to customer support that convinced Conrad to bring RMT on-board.

RMT supplies in-motion weighing solutions for construction and material handling machines, as well as backup safety cameras purpose-built for harsh working conditions. Conrad says, "We are always weighing one way or another. We have been specializing in dynamic weighing technology through the past 3 to 5 years. We want Mass Technologies to offer complete solutions to customers in mining, bulk solids and construction industries. We began an active search a few years ago to expand our product line-up."

With his specialized equipment focus, Conrad believes his firm must offer only the best products in any category. RMT's Marc Lefebvre, Managing Director of the company he founded with his father, feels the same. RMT products are all recognized leaders and innovators in their field including VEI loader scales from Italy, Intermercato grapple scales from Sweden, and TRACK-VISION safety cameras by Orlaco of The Netherlands. "Providing lifelong support makes relationships with customers closer," says Conrad. "In recent years, the level of support you can expect from the factory has been cut back repeatedly. As a dealer, you are pretty much on your own - you see very little factory support on customer issues. But Marc and RMT do things the way I remember when I first started up."

According to Conrad, customers are "thrilled" with the new additions to his product line-up. And he credits the RMT's "herculean" support for their quick success. "It's not just in aftersale and warranty service," he explains. "It's also the pre-sale advice they provide for applications; our access to manuals and training."

Conrad and his Service Manager, Mike Solek, attended training sessions for 3 days at RMT's head office in Montreal shortly after taking on the new lines. Since then, RMT field representatives have visited the Mass Technologies' facility in Pantego, TX to expand on the original training.

"With RMT, 'the customer comes first,' as in the old days," Conrad claims. "RMT has walked into a gap - it looks like our business in loader scales and safety cameras is going to explode!"
