Elizabeth Dionicia Button Recognized for Developmental Innovation at Australian University

    ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, June 05, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Flinders University School of Nursing & Midwifery Academic Teacher and Researcher, Elizabeth Dionicia "Didy" Button, RN, has been recognized for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in transitional program development.

Ms. Button has more than 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, and has spent the last 25 as an academic teacher and researcher for Flinders University School of Nursing & Midwifery. There, she leads graduate-level courses, as well as undergraduate courses in anatomy, physiology and adult medical-surgical nursing. As an expert in transitional program development, Ms. Button has most recently focused her efforts on developing critical reasoning and thinking skills through research and e-learning, as well as through other forms of stimulation. With these skills, she is working toward the application of blended learning within the classroom, which combines aspects of traditional classroom learning with Internet-based methods. Ms. Button plans to share her research and ideas through a June 2014 conference in Amsterdam, where she has been invited to speak.

Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Button's dedication and exemplary service have been recognized by several organizations. She has been awarded several grants to fund her research and development, including the Executive Dean's Teaching and Learning Grant, the Culturally Diverse and Inclusive Practice Grant, and the University Teaching and Learning Innovation Grant. Additionally, in 2011, she was the recipient of an ATLC Citation from the Australian Teaching and Learning Council.

Ms. Button attributes her success in her professional endeavors to being both innovative and adaptive to change. Additionally, she collaborates well with others, and is dedicated to delivering projects on schedule. To build the foundation for her comprehensive career, she earned a Master of Nursing from Flinders University, as well as a graduate diploma in adult education. In addition, Ms. Button is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in order to supplement her career.

In recognition of her multiple accomplishments, Ms. Button was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, and also maintains affiliation with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, as well as the Australian Nurse Teachers' Society. In the future, she hopes to commence research in e-learning to the aged care sector of health care.
