Lars Fournais is Recognized for Two Decades of Success in International Business

    RISSKOV, DENMARK, June 19, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Saint-Gobain Chief Executive Officer Lars Fournais has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in international management.

With nearly 30 years of international management experience, and an expertise in customer service, Mr. Fournais is uniquely qualified to lead Saint-Gobain as chief executive officer.

Throughout his six years in the position, Mr. Fournais has led the company to continued success through his results-oriented nature and love of working with others. Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark distributes building materials. Saint Gobain is a world leader in the habitat and construction markets and "provides innovative solutions to meet growing demand in emerging economies for energy efficiency and for environmental protection." The company is dedicated to making homes more efficient, affordable and sustainable. As the company's chief executive officer, Mr. Fournais oversees approximately 1,200 employees in Denmark.

Prior to joining Saint-Gobain, Mr. Fournais earned a Master of Science in business administration at Copenhagen Business School in 1980. He also received a Bachelor of Science in economics at the school in 1978. He started out in the field with The Northern Feather Group in 1981, working as a product manager and progressing to the sales and marketing manager, sales and marketing director and managing director, before leaving the company in 1989. He then became a management consultant with PA Consulting Group, as well as managing director of Trio Sport end System B8. Just prior to his current position, he served at the Grundfos Group for 14 years as Group Executive Vice President.

Mr. Fournais studied executive coaching at the Coaching Institute, has studied various management techniques at IMD Business School, and studied finance for executives at INSEAD. He was recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, and maintains affiliation with many prestigious organizations. Mr. Fournais serves as chairman of the board for The Association of Danish Heating, Ventilation and Plumbing Contractors, Aarhus Elite A/S and Øland A/S. He is a board member of Danske Invest Management A/S, OK a.m.b.a., Stibo A/S. Looking forward, Mr. Fournais intends to experience continued growth in the field and eventually move into other board member and chairman roles.
