ATLANTA, GA, June 24, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Copeland refrigeration parts experts, APM Cool, highlight the massive rise in commercial HVAC equipment popularity. Businesses in the food service industry represent a large number of those contributing to the almost $11 billion demand in the United States.
With an increase in energy-efficiency rates, especially in light of the Department of Energy's recent protocol to skyrocket these values up by 30 percent by 2017, companies across the board are attempting to capitalize on new HVAC investments.
HVAC Efficiency Changes Spark Industry Growth
A recent study conducted by a market research business in Ohio called The Freedonia Group found that domestic demand for commercial refrigeration equipment (e.g. freezers, refrigerators, etc.) is projected to rise approximately 3 percent within the next four years.
The bulk of this almost $500 million upward trend is due to the greater number of start ups in the food retail and food service sectors as well as from a bulk of new private capital investors. In light of the DOE's revised 2014 efficiency standards, the Trane compressor dealer says this all-time high demand for refrigeration equipment is hardly a surprise.
New high-end machinery will have a direct result on food service business revenue as the incorporation of LED lighting, proximity sensors and enclose equipment has already demonstrated. These upgrades are not being implemented solely for cost-effectiveness, however.
According to David DeBuc, Vice President of APM Cool, "With the production of R-22 slated to cease by 2020, many companies have no choice but to install new equipment that runs on alternative refrigerants."
