ANNANDALE, VA, September 15, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Helen L. Winter, Volunteer Counselor, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Counseling Services. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only small selections of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Ms. Winter has 33 years of industry experience, displaying an expertise in guidance and counseling. Her current duties are mentoring, advising and counseling adults and children, catering to the elderly living at home, and improving health care to the elderly.
Semi-retired, Ms. Winter is proud to volunteer for Home Instead, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on implementing better health care for senior citizens. She also works with the local school district to help design beneficial programs for the students. In the future, she hopes to participate in more volunteer endeavors with Home Instead, Inc., and the local school district.
Among her charitable acts are serving as a committee member to help produce a fashion show, with all the proceeds going toward human trafficking, collecting gifts to distribute to the seniors in various nursing homes, and serving the Annandale Women's Club and Annandale Chamber of Commerce Parade committee. She also maintains affiliations with a local women's club, the Civic Association, the Annandale Planning Committee and the Clean Fairfax Council.
Ms. Winter attributes her success to her passionate attitude, and was always interested in helping others. In recognition of all her achievements, she has been widely recognized by Worldwide Branding. She was twice named a VIP member of Worldwide Who's Who, and was selected for inclusion in the Who's Who Publishers Calendar Series. And most of all, she was given a 2014 Humanitarian Award for her volunteer efforts.
Ms. Winter previously earned a Master of Education (1984) and Bachelor of Science in business, both from the George Mason University.
