Based on the report, Nissan has moved up to the fourth position this year due to its environmental performance and consumer's perceptions of the company's eco-friendly practices and social impact. Nissan of New Port Richey is please to share the news with consumers as the automaker continues to move up in the ranks of the world's greenest brands. (2) To appear on the annual list, brands must have a wide-ranging global presence, and a demonstrated record of delivering value to their stakeholders. Deloitte Consulting LLP examines each brand's environmental or sustainability efforts. The data collected and analyzed by the company is then compared to that of consumer research regarding the public perception of the brands' green practices. (3)

As for Nissan, the automaker is moving forward and working hard to improve its environmental and social impact. On example of this effort is the zero-emissions Nissan LEAF, available at dealerships in New Port Richey. The Leaf is the world's best-selling electric car (4) and held about 50 percent of the global Electric Vehicle (EV) market share in 2013. The company also sold more than 120,000 units since its launch and introduced an all-electric Nissan e-NV200 commercial van in June 2014. (2)

Nissan is also expected to develop an autonomous car by 2020, another prime example of the company's efforts towards automotive sustainability.
