Simple Steps Help Women Cope with the Pressures of the Holiday Season

Dr. Jo Anne White says don't neglect yourself during this stress-filled time of the year.

"We're often overwhelmed by the mounting tasks we have to handle in such a short time period," says Dr. Jo Anne White, Professional Coach, and EP & Host of Power Your Life TV & Radio Shows.

PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 25, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the Holiday Season now underway, many women - particularly those with a family and a career -- begin to experience the stress of coping with the Holiday Season. However, women can make it through the Holidays without burning out mentally and physically if they take the time for simple "personal therapy," according to Dr. Jo Anne White

"All too often, women put a lot of pressure on themselves to make the Holiday Season perfect for their families. They end up exhausted before the last week in December even arrives," said White, Professional Coach, and Executive Producer & Host of Power Your Life TV & Radio Shows.

White said it's critical for women to schedule time for themselves between Thanksgiving and the New Year to perform self-healing through meditation or other forms of 'personal therapy.

"Set aside time to take a long, relaxing bath or relax listening to your favorite music," said White. "It can help to talk to someone about how you're feeling; have a casual conversation with your spouse or a friend. This may seem overly simply, but so many people don't take time for themselves during this Season."

Other tips for coping with the hectic Holiday Season from Dr. White are:

Make Lists - "We're often overwhelmed by the mounting tasks we have to handle in such a short time period," said White. "Break up these tasks into small bites and put them on a list. A list of four or five items seems much more manageable to your brain and your emotions than a list of 20. As you check off each task, you'll get a positive feeling of accomplishment, rather than the dread of thinking of all that you haven't completed." www.drjoannewhite.com

Exercise - "Whether it's walking on a treadmill or taking a yoga class, or even stretching, it's so important not to neglect your body. Exercising not only maintains our physical stamina but helps clear your mind and stabilize your emotions. It's not something to forfeit during the Holidays. Make time for it and it will support you through the holiday hustle."
