Chevrolet Expands Performance Car Line in 2015, Reports Ferman Chevy of Tampa

    TAMPA, FL, January 21, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In 2015, Chevrolet will offer a total of 14 performance cars across three product lines, notes Ferman Chevy of Tampa. There are nine Camaro models, four Corvette models, including the new 2014 Corvette Z06 convertible, and the Chevrolet SS performance sedan. (1)

The four Corvette models, available in 2015 at Chevrolet dealerships in Tampa, carry the model's storied history forward. The latest iteration of the Corvette Stingray, which now has both coupe and convertible versions, was introduced in 2013 with a 455-horsepower engine that still reaches 29 miles per gallon on the highway (2) with a seven-speed manual transmission. For 2015, the Stingray will have an eight-speed automatic available. (1) The Z06 coupe and convertible editions for 2015 deliver a huge 625 hp thanks to a supercharged engine. (1)

The latter-day muscle car Camaro coupe and convertible start with a 323-hp V-6 engine, up to 30 mpg on the highway (2), and a starting MSRP of $23,555 (1). Upgrading to the SS coupe or convertible means 426 hp from a V-8 engine, with a 0-60 time of less than five seconds. (1) The manual-transmission Camaro SS 1LE takes the package to the track with gearing, suspension and tires geared for speed. (1)

The Camaro ZL1 coupe and convertible models are the most powerful Camaro models ever built with 580 hp under the hood. (1) For the single-minded drag fanatic, the COPO Camaro is built only for the strip -- and limited to 69 total units this year. (1) And the Z/28 returns to its road racing roots and turned in a lap time at the legendary Nurburgring faster than both a Porsche and a Lamborghini. (1)
