LINCROFT, NJ, December 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Feryal Hajee, MD, of Metropolitan Asthma and Allergy, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in asthma, allergy & immunology.
Dr. Hajee brings eight years of medical experience to her role as an MD of Metropolitan Asthma and Allergy. As an expert in clinical allergy and immunology, she treats immunodeficiency disorders, seasonal allergies, drug allergies, food allergies, venom or bee sting allergies and chronic sinusitis; her special focus is immunodeficiencies.
Looking back, Dr. Hajee has always wanted to be a physician. Her father was a general practitioner in the UK and was a great influence on her while she was considering her career path. As a mother of3, she has an understanding of family decision making and the desire to use preventative measures. She has a very integrative, holistic approach and emphasis on preventative care. "Identifying the triggers of one's asthma and allergies, via skin testing and blood testing, is my key focus when seeing a patent. If you can identify triggers, you can prevent illness and the need for medication."
Dr. Hajee received an MD from Ross Medical School, Dominica in 2003. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and is the Program Director for The New Jersey Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society (NJAAIS). She is also a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI). In years to come, she'd like to continue working in the area of immunodeficiencies. She says, "I find the area of immunology interesting and challenging. Those patients can go undiagnosed for years. Increasing immunodeficiency awareness is the key to early detection. I want to also expand awareness of food allergies. I individualize treatment care for each patient and want to give high quality care to a larger community."
