Dr. Mayor has 27 years of professional experience, with 22 years as a physician and Medical Director in the Washington DC Metropolitan community. Throughout her career, she has set herself apart as an expert in women's health and preventative health. Looking back, she attributes her success to her hard work and a love for medicine. She became involved in her profession because she always loved working with women. During medical school, she had an opportunity to take care of women and deliver babies, which is when she found her niche; and made a decision to pursue obstetrics and gynecology as a life career.
Dr. Mayor continues to strive for the advancement of Women's Health in 2014 by working towards and receiving an Associate Professor promotion at Howard University College of Medicine. Her education endeavors include a JD from Georgetown University in 2008, an MD from Howard University in 1987 and a bachelor's degree from Houston Baptist University in 1983. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the National Medical Association and the American Medical Association. Also, Dr. Mayor has worked and served in multiple leadership roles throughout her career and currently serves as the Physician Executive and Board Liaison for Providence Hospital Physician Enterprise Services. In addition, Dr. Mayor is a recipient of the Washington, DC Patients' choice Award in 2014 and 2012, and was presented with a Compassionate Doctor Award in 2012, through Vitals. In years to come, Dr. Mayor intends to extend the perimenopausal patient population within her practice and continue her work in preventive health.
