"I'm looking forward to contributing my ability to create simple, smart and effective messages to help a cause that I believe in passionately."
PAWLING, NY, January 06, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reform Canine Breeding and Auctions (RCBA), a new advocacy group with plans to register and regulate commercial dog breeders, has named key members of its communications team.
Michelle Farnum will serve as RCBA's Vice President of Communications. Prior to joining advertising agency Morales Communications as Creative Director, she was a Senior VP and Creative Director for Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB). After DDB, she opened her own advertising agency, which later merged with Morales Communications.
She has worked as an art director and graphic designer on national advertising campaigns for well-known brands for more than 20 years. "I'm looking forward to contributing my ability to create simple, smart and effective messages to help a cause that I believe in passionately," said Farnum, a longtime supporter of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel rescue efforts.
"I have owned and fostered dogs rescued from bad puppy mill operations," said Farnum. "Once I understood how these animals had been treated, I had to get involved," stated Farnum. Farnum regards John Hettinger's successful campaign 2000-2007 to end the slaughter of racehorses as a model of what passionate, organized reformers can do with the right leadership.
Jay Morales will serve as RCBA's Director of Marketing/Public Relations. Jay is currently President and Creative Director of Morales Communications. He began his advertising career at DDB as assistant to Bob Gage, the first inductee into the Art Director's Hall of Fame. While at DDB, Jay created print and television advertising campaigns for dozens of Fortune 500 clients, notably GTE, American Airlines, Mobil and The Bank of New York.
"My love for dogs is immense," said Morales. "One of the dogs my wife and I rescued from a puppy mill, Artie, had never lived outside a dark crate," noted Morales. "He had to learn how to trust people, to sleep on something soft, to play and even to climb stairs."
RCBA has also named Jackie Marie Griffin, J.D., its Director of Content. She is currently a Communications Advisor to Conoco Phillips and was previously Communications Manager at BOK Financial and a Communications Specialist at State Farm.
RCBA will hold its first organizational meeting in January in Dallas, TX. It is still seeking volunteers to fill leadership roles and social-media savvy volunteers. To volunteer or get email updates, visit reformcaninebreedersandacutions.com.
