PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 07, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Have pest problems? Newly updated fact sheets are now available in both English and Spanish from the Pennsylvania IPM Program in Penn State's College of Ag Sciences.
Aimed at helping people deal with household pests safely and effectively, the fact sheets contain information on how to identify pests and control infestations. Topics include cockroaches, asthma ants, bed bugs, head lice, and mice, what to do to prevent them, and how to management them safely using IPM.
Integrated pest management, or IPM, aims to manage pests -- such as insects, diseases, weeds and animals -- by combining physical, biological and chemical tactics that are safe, profitable and environmentally compatible.
The fact sheets are available as free downloadable PDF from the PA IPM website. Hard copies are also available to order through Penn State College of Ag Sciences Publications.
Additionally, PA IPM staff offer hands-on training sessions on IPM and Healthy Homes for diverse audiences in both English and Spanish.
The Pennsylvania IPM program is a collaboration between the Pennsylvania State University and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture aimed at promoting integrated pest management in both agricultural and urban settings.
