Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria's Giveback Tuesday Events Raise More Than $16,000 for Local Charities

    ST. LOUIS, MO, January 08, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katie's Pizza and Pasta Osteria, a local Italian eatery, hosted its monthly Giveback Tuesday event on Tues., December 16, which also marked the final Giveback Tuesday for 2014.

On the 4th Tuesday of every month, Katie's Pizza & Pasta features a local nonprofit charity and donates 100 percent of the earned proceeds. Lunch, dinner, drinks, and carryout are all included.

December's Giveback Tuesday benefitted The Half Fund, an organization committed to "illustrating the realities of a cancer diagnosis" via projects such as films, documentaries, books and music and then donating the funds raised to various cancer charities. Thanks to Katie's loyal customers, they were able to raise $2,100 for The Half Fund.

Owners Katie Lee Collier and Ted Collier started their charitable endeavor this past July as a way to raise money for local charities. In just six months, they have managed to raise and donate more than $16,000.

"We are grateful for the supportive community that helped us open and has supported us in our first year," Lee said. "This is our way of thanking the community - by giving back to the city we love."

Giveback Tuesdays will start back up Tuesday, January 27. Angels' Arms, an organization dedicated to providing and supporting loving homes for foster children by keeping siblings together within a nurturing family until a forever home is found, will be the recipient of all proceeds for the day.

Katie's Pizza & Pasta Osteria is open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight and features Happy Hour specials from 3 to 5 p.m. Carry-outs are also available.
