He had gained experience as an X-ray technician before he decided to attend medical school.
Dr. Roland attributes his success to putting in long hours, collaboration with other quality professionals and his wife, who is a nurse and serves as a continuous source of support. He was influenced to pursue his profession by his family physician, who was very motivational.
Recently inducted into Worldwide Registry, Dr. Roland also maintains affiliations with the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Internists, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care. His previous practice, that he was part owner of, Infectious Disease Specialists of New Jersey (IDS of NJ), was a medical practice that provided infectious disease diagnosis and treatment. General infectious disease management was provided by the practice, but there was a concentrated area of interest and dedication to HIV/AIDS. Dr. Roland was Acting Medical Director of HIV services for the Early Intervention Program Clinic of Trinitas Medical Center (previously Elizabeth General Medical Center) for over 20 years. During his time with IDS of NJ he was involved in over 40 clinical research trials as either principle investigator or sub-investigator.
