WASHINGTON, DC, January 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leni S. Berliner, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Farms International LLC, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Renewable Energy. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Ms. Berliner has 33 years of professional experience, with seven years as the founder and CEO of Energy Farms International LLC. Throughout her career, she has broadened and expanded her skill set into a number of areas, including strategy development, governance, board training and recruitment, corporate and organizational development, capital raising and investor and lender relations, risk management, sustainability planning, and implementation support and evaluation. On a daily basis, she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business while also working to help clients with competitive positioning strategies, market analysis and regulatory analysis. She also assists clients with corporate and organizational development by defining the critical paths and resources needed to achieve their ends. Once these have been identified, she creates processes for project and portfolio development and coordinates all commercial contracts, risk management, and investment and divestment decisions so that they are in line with the overall strategy. Ms. Berliner regularly advises clients about sustainability issues, including economic diversification and small enterprise development, energy conservation, the use of renewable sources of power, and coordination with environmental protection and conservation programs.
Ms. Berliner is not only intellectually curious and well-informed, but also creative, resourceful, direct, and effective; she is a doer as well as a thinker. Unlike the many analysts who can't make decisions or don't want to get their hands dirty, or entrepreneurs who jump into new ventures without thinking, Ms. Berliner has consistently proved her ability to deliver quality results. Her skills are reflected not only in the quality of her professional accomplishments, but also in the fact that she is an accomplished landscape painter. As Ms. Berliner says, "Painters make hundreds of decisions when they are planning and making a painting, and when you can't decide about something, it shows. When you move the horizon line up or down, the perspective changes."
Looking back, Ms. Berliner attributes her success to the support and life skills given to her by her mother and father, and to the exceptional breadth and depth of her knowledge base, which she uses to help clients improve their competitive position in their industry. In addition, she credits her ability to translate her ideas into action in the real world. She became involved in her profession through her experience in international economic development, and gradually shifted her focus into the natural resource-based industries of mining and renewable energy. The highlights of her career include reforming economic policy and regulation to support the development of the private sector in emerging markets, and building a transnational, publicly traded mining company de novo.
Ms. Berliner received a Master of Public and International Affairs, with a concentration in economic and social development from the University of Pittsburgh. She has also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, with a minor in economics, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She is a member of the Business Committee of the American Council on Renewable Energy; the Argentina Renewable Energy Chamber; the National Association of Corporate Directors; and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. In years to come, Ms. Berliner intends to take on additional projects and advance into a position such as chief executive officer or vice president of sustainability.
