Dr. Zafar brings 15 years of professional experience to her position as a physician of Southwest Florida Cancer Care. Throughout her career, she has set herself apart as an expert in hematology, oncology and breast cancer. On a daily basis, she is responsible for diagnosing, treating and preventing blood diseases and various types of cancer, as well as taking part in clinical. Looking back to the start of her career, Dr. Zafar became involved in her profession because her grandmother had cancer and she was very close to her. She made up her mind at that point that she would be a cancer specialist.
Dr. Zafar received an MD from Rawalpindi Medical College in 1999. In addition to her degree, she has licensed through the Iowa and Florida State Boards, and she is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. She was recently inducted into Worldwide Registry and also maintains affiliation with the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. In recognition of her professionalism and dedication, she was presented with a Most Compassionate Doctor Award in 2011 and 2012, Patient's Choice Awards from 2010-2012, and she was named to the Healthgrades Honor Roll.
