James M. Salik, MD, Recognized for Excellence in Gastroenterology

    NEW YORK, NY, February 18, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James M. Salik, MD, Gastroenterologist with Concorde Medical Group, PLLC, and Associate Professor of Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in health care and education.

Dr. Salik has been dedicated to the medical field for 35 years through his specialty in gastroenterology. His areas of expertise include the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), colitis, Crohn's disease, and diseases of the liver, such as hepatitis. As both a gastroenterologist and an educator, Dr. Salik has a wide range of duties. He is charged with patient care, teaching, and providing primary care, in addition to gastroenterological services. Extensive education and training has served as the cornerstone of Dr. Salik's success. An alumnus of New York University School of Medicine, he earned an MD in 1980, and completed a residency in Internal Medicine in 1983 and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Bellevue Hospital Center in 1985. Dr. Salik is also a Diplomate within the subspecialties of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Recently inducted into the Worldwide Registry, Dr. Salik also maintains affiliations with the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

For his professional efforts, Dr. Salik has been named one of New York Magazines's Best Doctors in three of the past four years as well as a Top Doctor in Gastroenterology (2013-2014) and among Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area (1999-2008, 2010-2014) by Castle Connolly.
