Van Hulle has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in, Tort litigation including products liability, toxic torts, legal malpractice and professional liability case claims as well as commercial litigation and Insurance matters.
Mr. Van Hulle brings 43 years of professional experience to his role as an attorney in private practice. Throughout his career, he has grown to become a trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex cases involving multimillion-dollar claims. He is also proficient in legal malpractice defense and product liability, handling civil trials and class action lawsuits. On a daily basis, he has been responsible for managing complex civil litigation involving products liability, toxic torts and legal malpractice and wage and hours class actions. Prior to his career in law, Mr. Van Hulle served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965.
He is fluent in English and French, which helps him cross language barriers in pursuit of justice. Looking back, Mr. Van Hulle attributes his success to the fact that he likes to try cases, and finds that it's something he enjoys. Most of the cases he has tried have been for GM, Toyota and companies within the plastics industry. These, he explains have been cases that he took on to stretch the learning curve. Mr. Van Hulle also does appellate work. He went into this field because he enjoyed the work involved with the profession. Although he had none of the usual connections, he had a very early taste of the courtroom. He went to work for a law firm and in the first months after being admitted, tried his first jury trial. Mr. Van Hulle is a past member of ABODA, Southern California Defense Counsel. Mr. Van Hulle has acted as Amicus counsel. He has acted as a judge pro-temp, and an arbitrator and a mediator at both the trial and appellate level.
Mr. Van Hulle received a JD from the Hastings College of the Law at the University of California, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science and economics from California State University, San Jose. In addition to his degrees, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court's Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Mr. Van Hulle received a 10th Anniversary Award commemorating his first AV Preeminent Attorney Rating, and he has been named as a Top Lawyer in the Inland Empire in 2012. In the coming years, Mr. Van Hulle projects that he will continue to practice, consulting with other lawyers, as well as doing pro-bono work and trials.
