He works with all his patients to establish treatment plans before serious problems arise
SARASOTA, FL, March 03, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- E. Thomas Arne Jr., DO, FACC, has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in cardiology and primary care.
Dr. Arne has 21 years of professional experience, with eight at the helm of his eponymous cardiology practice. A year ago, he realized the importance of being able to care for and treat all aspects of his patient's health. He therefore transitioned his practice to a "concierge" model. He sees fewer patients and is able to spend more time with them and be "captain of the ship" for all their health care needs. Each day sees him investing time reviewing medical history, diet, and exercise habits with his patients. He conveys to his patients his in-depth understanding of the importance of identifying the early warning signs of the life-altering diseases we face as we age. He works with all his patients to establish treatment plans before serious problems arise, even for those who feel great and exercise regularly. When these cannot be prevented, however, Dr. Arne is skilled at managing the testing and long-term treatment needed.
The practice offers a wide variety of testing customized to fit a patient's individual needs. Services include EKG, Bio Z, PT/INR finger sticks for Coumadin monitoring, halter monitoring, defibrillator and pacemaker checks, phlebotomy, vaccinations, body composition testing, hospital services and more. Dr. Arne has privileges at both Sarasota Memorial and Doctors Hospital, and is therefore able to meet many inpatient needs.
Looking back, Dr. Arne attributes his success to a combination of passion for medicine and being blessed by God with the ability to perform his professional functions. He became involved in his profession because he had aspired to become a doctor from the time he was in middle school, and wanted to make a real difference in people's lives.
Dr. Arne completed a cardiology fellowship at Lutheran General Hospital, University of Chicago in 1994, having earned his D.O. from Midwestern University in 1986 and a pharmacy degree from Ferris State University in 1981. Dr. Arne is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Prior to his transition to personalized care medicine, his extensive training ranked him among the most experienced cardiologists in heart failure management in the area. In 1999, Dr. Arne led the team that developed the nationally recognized Heart Failure Center at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He is actively involved in clinical research in a variety of areas.
In recognition of professional excellence, Dr. Arne received an On-Time Doctor Award in 2014, and he is a multi-year recipient of Vitals' Patients' Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Recognition. In years to come, Dr. Arne would like to grow his practice and the preventative medicine/wellness services available to his patients.
