Kirk C. Seton Honored for Excellence in Advertising and Graphic Design

    CALGARY, AB, March 09, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kirk Seton, Creative and Design Director of Signet Design Inc., has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Advertising and Graphic Design. Inclusion in Worldwide Branding is restricted to a select group of members in each discipline. Honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.

With a quarter century of industry experience, Mr. Seton is an accomplished expert in the field of visual communications. He specializes in creating and maintaining corporate visual brand identity across a full range of the marketing materials he creates for clients. These materials include company and product logos, print materials, displays and exhibits. He serves as the creative & design director on his projects as he collaborates with photographers, writers, web builders, printers and other members of the production team.

It could be said that Mr. Seton was born to design. His father was an architect who dared to combine the disciplines of art and physics to create the kind of structures that inspire while delivering every-day functional benefits. Indeed, while most kids went to Montreal's World Trade Fair, Expo 67, for the exhibits, midway rides and exotic animals, eight-year-old Kirk followed his father around Habitat 67. This architectural marvel had such an impact on Kirk he flirted with the idea of becoming an architect. But it was the power of pure design that fired his imagination and so, to the Alberta College of Art & Design he went.

Mr. Seton worked in Vancouver where he began his career as a designer and illustrator, developing logos, signage concepts and architectural renderings for Signcorp. He then moved to Victoria where he honed his design skills at a variety of advertising and government agencies. He later returned to Calgary and joined Applied Communications, a full-service marketing firm. While there, he developed integrated branding programs for Elk Park Ranch, Three Sisters Mountain Village, Panorama Mountain Village, Wilderness Club, Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club, Fairmont Hot Springs, Mountain Air and many other local and international clients.

In 2007, Mr. Seton launched Signet Design Inc. and currently has a portfolio of design projects for a variety of local and regional clients, many of who are in the development business.

Mr. Seton has enjoyed all this success because of his creativity and the ability to visualize graphic design solutions. Additionally, he credits his flexibility and good listening skills, which are essential for good customer service.

Recently inducted into Worldwide Branding, Mr. Seton also maintains a charitable affiliation with the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
