Robert Umstad Recognized for Excellence in Aviation and Aerospace

SEACA Pty., Ltd., is consultancy and certification company that provides development, maintenance, and implementation of management systems for the aerospace and manufacturing sectors. And in it is in the aviation field that Mr. Umstad has a staggering 42 years of experience, and consequently, tremendous, varied expertise. He is well-versed in mechanical engine and the airframe mechanical side of aviation for both commercial and military applications. He has extensive experience in aviation multiple regulatory requirements, certification and standards specifications (EASA, FAA, CASA (145-CAR 30), DGTA Indonesia, ADF AEO/AMO), and operational management experience across multiple maintenance functions on fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.

Mr. Umstad's daily responsibilities in his current role of two years are planning, developing, maintaining, and implementing management systems for the aerospace and manufacturing sector in Australasia region and India. This includes improvements, auditing and training regarding new industry standards (AS9100 Rev C, AS9110 Rev A-B and AS9120 Rev A) ISO, and QMS. He plans and conducts certifications and third party audits globally for aerospace and manufacturing companies.

All of these efforts have brought Mr. Umstad numerous accolades, including the prestigious Order of Australia Medal Commendation. He has been recognized for the Devotion and Pursuit of Excellence and Outstanding Performance to Maintenance Control Aviation, and received Commendations for Enthusiasm and Commitment in the Recruiting Field and for an Outstanding Level of Commitment and Dedication.

In the future, Mr. Umstad plans to remain in the industry, assisting companies in achieving the highest level of aerospace standards and continuously improving his skills. Successful because of his work ethic, and communication negotiation skills, he also credits his ability to develop new processes on multiple levels in any task, commitment to team groups and a desire to achieve set goals. He has always had an interest in aviation and served in the He spent 22 years in the Royal Australian Airforce and retired as a Warrant Officer Engineer after working on 7 types of aircraft from fixed wing propeller to Fast Jet finishing on Helicopters. He also developed and managed his own educational services business before returning to the people management sector. He worked as a sales agent for FMP Welding, and a maintenance controller, and safety and compliance manager for Sikorsky Aircraft Australia Limited. He was also the senior assessor and senior consultant for Lloyds Register Quality Assurance Limited before his current role.

An extensive education prepared Mr. Umstad for such a demanding and rewarding career. He earned diplomas of business in quality auditing and in frontline management associated auditing, as well as a diploma from Wynnum State High School. His training includes: Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training; Aviation Multiple Regulatory Requirements Certification; Human Factors, EASA Certification; FAA Certification; CASA Certification; ADF AEO/AMO Certification; RABQSA Aerospace Industry Experience Auditor; AS9100, AS9110, AS9120 Certifications; QMS Principle Auditor; RABQSA Certification; IRCA QMS Auditor; AS9100 Rev C Aerospace Auditor; AS9110 Rev A-B Aerospace Auditor; AS 9120 Rev A Aerospace Auditor.
