New National Business-Oriented Group Seeking to Improve Dog Breeding for the Dogs

    FORT WORTH, TX, April 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- National Alliance for Dog Breeding Reform (NADBR) is a new national reform group committed to the mission of ensuring every dog bred for profit is shown kindness, treated humanely, and bred using only medically sound practices.

"Anyone purchasing or adopting a puppy should invest the time to ensure they get one that has been bred, raised and cared for properly," said Felissa Elfenbein, NADBR's Director of Social Media.

"How puppies and their parents are treated is going to trend on social media the first week of May because of Humane Society International's Puppy Mill Action Week," said Elfenbein. This year's event will run from May 4 through May 10.

"Our goal at NADBR is to completely change the way we look at dog breeding," said Elfenbein. "We're about demonstrating that investing in the health and wellness of dogs used in breeding makes long-term business sense," said Elfenbein.

The all-volunteer NADBR is currently gathering data on best practices from breeders who are practicing good husbandry and researching proposals to improve dog breeding.

NADBR is composed of successful professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, breeders, and people active in rescue who want to see dog breeding improved, regardless of whether the a dog is bred by a large commercial dog breeder or a small home-based breeder.

"We're looking for people who want to improve for profit dog breeding for the dogs, breeders who are doing it right, animal husbandry experts, veterinarians, and animal lovers who see the need for sensible reforms," said Hue Grant, NADBR's President.
