KALAMAZOO, MI, April 29, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- TBA, Inc., has launched Brandi Music, http://www.brandimusic.com, a new overhead music company available in the U.S. and Canada. The commercial streaming music service was developed for restaurants, shopping centers, health care offices, fitness centers and other similar businesses to easily create their own unique blend of profanity-free, high-quality overhead music in the cloud in real time.
Creator Tim Brown says, "Brandi stands for 'Your Brand, Independent.' Every business is unique; with Brandi, they can create their own blend and change it whenever they like throughout the day. This eliminates the need for expensive programmers."
Brown says the service is also a response to business demand for profanity-free lyrics. "The thing about having so many options on the internet for music is, it's easy to forget that many songs use harsh lyrics and that what you play in your business is a reflection of your business' image," he says. "The music you play in your public spaces should result in improving business and make visitors happy to be there. If I hear the F-bomb in your store, I'm going to assume you think that's okay, and I may become disillusioned with your brand," says Brown. "I've been in the dentist chair and heard lyrics that made me feel uncomfortable, but what could I do? I couldn't just get up from the chair and leave. Some businesses such as restaurants or retail establishments allow customers to walk away and not even know it," says Brown. "Their brands are tarnished because they didn't think the music mattered."
Brandi Music was first launched in 2007, but shelved when Brown realized its Flash architecture would not work on Apple products. "We moved onto other projects, and then in late 2013 developed our own streaming architecture which would work on all devices. We tested it behind the scenes with a few key customers in 2014, and felt ready for the launch this month. We'll be adding more features throughout 2015, such as day parting and reporting features," he says.
Other Brandi Features
Song-Blocking: Brandi's interface allows users to log in and see the list of songs that are included in their stream. Users may click a button that says "do not play this song again," which tells Brandi to not play the song in the future. "The unique song-stop feature gives users the power to customize the music in their space, so they'll have a sound that is all their own," says Brown.
Randomization: Brandi Music's architecture assures no two songs play in the same order, assuring a fresh experience at every visit. "Many music services send a disc with 200 to 300 songs that play in the same order every day," says Brown.
Real-time Updates: Since Brandi is heard in a live stream, any updates and additions to the song selections are heard immediately.
Employees Can't Play DJ: "For many businesses, their music service is supplied through a player that can be changed by anyone, including employees, and that may not be ideal for the brand image," says Brown. Brandi Music provides a one-step login for authorized users only to change the channels.
Licensed for commercial use: Brandi Music is completely licensed for commercial use. Brandi is licensed in the U.S. and Canada through ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, and SOCAN. Steps towards commercial use outside of the U.S. and Canada are underway.
Streams from any device: Brandi Music can be played from a PC, tablet, smart phone or similar device, or through a streaming player purchased from Brandi Music.
