With more than 32 years of experience in the practice of family and divorce law, Mr. Cooper joined Fields and Dennis LLP in March of 2015. There, his areas of focus include divorce law, premarital and post-nuptial agreements, paternity, support, child custody and parenting plans. In connection with divorce law, he is particularly skilled with regard to addressing complex property and compensation issues, valuations, forensic investigations and sophisticated financial issues of any nature; and all matters pertaining to children. Prior to joining Fields and Dennis, he served as a partner with Kates & Barlow PC, Boston from January 2011 until joining Fields and Dennis; and prior to that was associated with premiere Boston family law firm of Lee and Levine LLP (now Lee and Rivers LLP) for approximately 25 years, the last 14 as a partner.
Mr. Cooper received a JD from Suffolk University Law School and a bachelor's degree, with honors, in political science and government from Muhlenberg College. Rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, he has also been honored as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2013; and a Super Lawyer and one of the Top Attorneys in New England since 2005.
