Mika Makinen Honored for Excellence in Sales Management

    TOKYO, JAPAN, June 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mika Makinen, APAC Regional Director of Device & Infrastructure Testing for Anite Telecoms Ltd., has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in sales management.

Mr. Makinen has 26 years of professional experience, with five years as a regional director of device and infrastructure testing for the APAC region of Anite Telecoms Ltd. Throughout his career, he has set himself apart as an expert in sales channel, customer and account development and management, as well as strategy and business plan build-up and execution. He is also skilled at new operation and business establishment and growth, reengineering/revitalizing business and partnerships, proactive and consultative feature sales vs. reactive discount sales, and bridge-building in cross-cultural business environments. Each day, Mr. Makinen is responsible for managing all operations in the APAC market for sales, business development, customer support and maintenance functions.

Mr. Makinen has had many highlights and accomplishments throughout his career. From the first year, he managed a remarkable business increase and achieved profitability in every operation. He developed a triple-digit MUSD internal purchase unit into a double-sized external sales, purchase and sourcing operation. He established a new company and achieved market leadership by wiping out both domestic and foreign competitors. In addition, he efficiently managed and supported a sales and support network of more than 100 people.

Looking back, Mr. Makinen attributes his success to his experiences, leadership skills and drive. He became involved in his profession because he had an interest in the field. He started his career in the construction industry, moving across to machinery and operating sales support. He feels that a major highlight of his career was achieving a 500 percent regional sales increase in only five years.

Mr. Makinen received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Tampere, Finland. In addition to his degree, he is an electrical design and installation supervisor. He maintains affiliation with the Finnish Chamber of Commerce in Japan, having served as a board member from 2001-2012 and president from 2004-2008. He is also a former board member of the European Chamber of Commerce in Japan's board of governors. In recognition of his hard work and dedication, Mr. Makinen received the Top Dog Regional Director award from Anite Telecoms in 2012. In years to come, he intends to continue growing and expanding in his career. He also hopes to move into a global role in the near future.
