National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Larry J. Sloan as an Executive Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

    CHRISTIANSTED, USVI, July 30, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larry J. Sloan, HSE Manager for Sloan Safety Consulting, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Larry J. Sloan's commitment to excellence in Oil and Gas, Power and Energy, and Pulp and Paper.

Beginning his career in 1979, Larry J. Sloan worked for Halliburton in Texas. Relocating to New England with the company, he stayed employed with them for nearly 20 years. He held titles that included service engineer, field engineer, field chemist, sales, regional manager, and regional safety manager. Working in a field he was always truly passionate about, he eventually ventured out on his own, forming Sloan Safety Consulting.

Becoming an Individual HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) Consultant 14 years ago, Mr. Sloan began working internationally. One of his very first tasks upon taking on this new role was being able to identify and understand each and every issue. In other words, being able to access and understand the existing HSE culture, programs, and existing compliance to company and OSHA HSE expectations. After gathering this information, he would then meet with senior management and present his strategy for improvement and establishment of a bench mark for project HSE expectations.

"My passion is safety," Mr. Sloan admits. "When I can see our workforce leave the facility with no injuries and return home to their loved ones, there is no greater satisfaction or motivation to make it happen every day."

Mr. Sloan holds a BS in Environmental Science from Chadwick University in 1997. Active with the Institute of Safety and Health Management, World Safety Organization, American Society of Safety Engineers, and National Association of Distinguished Professionals, he is a present candidate for one of the two positions on the Board of Directors for the National Institute of Safety Management, of which he is a Certified Safety and Health Manager. Receiving the first OSHA SHARP Recognition of any industry in the Caribbean, Mr. Sloan earned a Four Star and a Five Star Award from the British Safety Council. He also earned the Hong Kong OSHA Contractors Award of the Year, of which the site was used as an example of how workers safety should be maintained.

Notably, Mr. Sloan will be featured in the upcoming edition of NADP's 'Top 100 Industry Experts' magazine.
