LAS VEGAS, NV, August 31, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Grand Canyon Tours will be putting a number of select helicopter and airplane tours on flash sale this week as travelers prepare to book flights for the Labor Day 2015 holiday vacation.
Las Vegas
From Vegas, the helicopter tour that's marked down the steepest is the air-only flight to the West Rim. This tour is the fastest way to experience the Canyon and takes travelers over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam en route to the National Park.
There's a deluxe version of this tour as well for travelers who prefer to be picked up and dropped off via limousine. Furthermore, the deluxe package includes an extended tour over the Las Vegas Strip from the Stratosphere tower to the Luxor pyramid.
Lastly, deluxe tours use the EcoStar 130, which is the best sightseeing aircraft flying the Canyon. The EC 130 is 25 percent larger than the one used on the basic tour. It features stadium-style seats and a 180-degree windshield for breathtaking views of the Park.
By Plane
The Vegas airplane on special is also air-only. It follows the same route as the helicopter except at a higher altitude. Planes make the trip over in 30 minutes and can accommodate up to 19 people, making them perfect for families, groups and travelers with disabilities.
Each plane is outfitted for sightseeing and comes with wings attached to the top of the body so travelers can see the Canyon below. The cabins are comfortably large, resulting in more personal space and legroom. Windows, too, are oversized and each plane comes with trip narration translated in up to 10 languages.
The alternative to air-only helicopter is heli-landing tours and these are Vegas' most popular. The best-selling flight by far is the one that flies to the bottom for a Champagne picnic. It can be optioned further to be done at sunset as well as to include a Colorado River boat ride and VIP Skywalk tickets.
There are landing versions of plane tours, too. The most popular is the one that comes with a helicopter ride to the bottom, a boat ride on the Colorado River and tickets to the Skywalk. Further, plane tours tend to be cheaper than helicopter rides so travelers who want all the extras might want to give these flights extra consideration.
South Rim
The 30-minute South Rim basic helicopter tour is on sale. It goes from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. There's also a 50-minute flight that does all that, too, plus everything up to the Park's eastern border. Once the longer tour is completed, a traveler will have seen up to 75 percent of the Park.
The 50-minute airplane tour is also on special. It does exactly what the 50-minute helicopter tour does except at a higher altitude and at a lower price. South Rim helicopter tours are very popular and tend to sell out so it's best to consider this airplane tour as a back.
